Cash Money’s big break came in 1997 when the Hot Boys, B.G. and Juvenile in particular, caught the attention of Universal Recordsexecutives. In 1998, Cash Money signed a million pressing and distribution contract with Universal, entitling the label to 85% of its royalties, 50% of its publishing revenues and ownership of all masters. After the deal Cash Money would reach success it hadn’t come close to previously. The release of Juvenile’s 1998 album 400 Degreez, which was certified 4X Platinum by the RIAA [3], solidified Cash Money as a powerful label in the national hip-hop scene. Later albums in 1999 such as the Hot Boys’ Guerrilla Warfare, B.G.’s Chopper City in the Ghetto, and Lil Wayne’s Tha Block Is Hot also saw great chart success and furthered the label’s reputation. Nicki Minaj ft. Drake – Moment 4 Life Lyrics

[Nicki Minaj]
I fly with the stars in the skies,
I am no longer trying to survive,
I believe that life is a prize,
But to live doesn’t mean you’re alive,
Don’t worry bout me and who I fire
I get what I desire it’s my empire
And yes I call the shots I am the umpire
I sprinkle holy water upon a vampire, vampire
And this very moment I’m king
This very moment I slay Goliath with a sling,
This very moment I bring
Put it on everything that I will retire with the ring,
And I will retire with the crown, Yes!
No I’m not lucky I’m blessed, Yes!
Clap for the heavyweight champ, Me!
But I couldn’t do it all alone, We!
Young Money raised me, grew up out in Paisley
Southside Jamaica, Queens and it’s crazy
cuz I’m still hood, Hollywood couldn’t change me
shout out to my haters, sorry that you couldn’t faze me
aint being cocky we just vindicated, best believe that when were done
This moment will be syndicated, I don’t know this night just reminds me
of everything that they deprived me of, kuhh!

ppppp put ya drinks up, it’s a celebration every time we link up
We done did everything they can think of
Greatness is what we wanna brink up.

[Chorus]
I wish that I could have this moment for life, for life, for life
Cuz in this moment I just feel so alive, alive, alive

I wish that I could have this moment for life, for life, for life
Cuz in this moment I just feel so alive, alive, alive

[Drake]
yeahh
yeaahh
yeahh, ugh
What I tell ‘em hoes bow bow bow to me, drop down to ya knees
Young Money the Mafia that’s word to Lil Cease
I’m in The Dominican Big Papi Ortiz
doin’ target practice all these bitches just aiming to please
Shoutout to the CEO 500 degrees
shoutout to the OVO where we set for T’s, oooow
N-ggas wanna be friends how coincidental
This supposed to be our year we ain’t get the memo
Young King, pay me in gold
40 got a bunch of weed he ain’t even roll
These n-ggas be droppin songs they ain’t even cold
Weezy on top and that n-gga aint even home, yet!
yeaah, be very afraid these other rappers getting bodied and carried away
f-ck it me and Nicki Nick gettin’ married today
And now you bitches that be hatin can catch a bouquet, oww
yeah, you a star in my eyes, you and all them white girls party of five
are we drinking a lil more I can hardly decide
I can’t believe we really made it I’m partly surprised, I swear
daaam, this one for the books, man!
I swear this shit is as fun as it looks, man!
I’m really tryna make it more than what it is, cuz everybody dies but not everybody lives!

[Chorus]
I wish that I could have this moment for life, for life, for life
Cuz in this moment I just feel so alive, alive, alive

I wish that I could have this moment for life, for life, for life
Cuz in this moment I just feel so alive, alive, alive

[Nick Minaj]
This is my moment, I waited all my life I can tell its time
drifting away I’m one with the sunsets, I have become alive.

[Chorus]
I wish that I could have this moment for life, for life, for life
Cuz in this moment I just feel so alive, alive, alive

I wish that I could have this moment for life, for life, for life

Eminem – Like Toy Soldiers (Lyrics)

Step by step, heart to heart, left right left
We all fall down…

[Chorus]
Step by step, heart to heart, left right left
We all fall down like toy soldiers
Bit by bit, torn apart, we never win
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers

[Verse 1]
I’m supposed to be the soldier who never blows his composure
Even though I hold the weight of the whole world on my shoulders
I am never supposed to show it, my crew ain’t supposed to know it
Even if it means goin’ toe to toe with a Benzino it don’t matter
I’d never drag them in battles that I can handle unless I absolutely have to
I’m supposed to set an example
I need to be the leader, my crew looks for me to guide ‘em
If some shit ever just pop off, I’m supposed to be beside ‘em
That Ja shit I tried to squash it, it was too late to stop it
There’s a certain line you just don’t cross and he crossed it
I heard him say Hailie’s name on a song and I just lost it
It was crazy, this shit be way beyond some Jay-z and Nas shit
And even though the battle was won, I feel like we lost it
I spent too much energy on it, honestly I’m exhausted
And I’m so caught in it I almost feel I’m the one who caused it
This ain’t what I’m in hip-hop for, it’s not why I got in it
That was never my object for someone to get killed
Why would I wanna destroy something I help build
It wasn’t my intentions, my intentions was good
I went through my whole career without ever mentionin’ Suge
Now it’s just out of respect for not runnin’ my mouth
And talkin’ about something that I knew nothing about
Plus Dre told me stay out, this just wasn’t my beef
So I did, I just fell back, watched and gritted my teeth
While he’s all over t.v. down talkin’ a man who literally saved my life
Like f**k it i understand this is business
And this shit just isn’t none of my business
But still knowin’ this shit could pop off at any minute ’cause

[Chorus]

Rihanna?s ?s&m? Video: Lachapelle Homage or Plagiarism?

Rihanna’s video for her new ‘S&M’ single has been causing controversy this week. The promo has been banned in 11 countries and deemed ‘inappropriate’ by YouTube, who were swift to slap an age restriction on it. And now it has been hit by plagiarism claims.
The bondage-themed video, directed by Melina Matsoukas, features stark images such as Rihanna ’saran-wrapped’ (that’s ‘cellophaned’ to us Brits) to a press conference wall, and the 22-year-old singer leading celebrity blogger Perze Hilton around on a leash.
In an interview with MTV, director Matsoukas explains how she and the singer wanted to create a “fun romp through an alternate universe.” The director reveals inspiration as wide-ranging as Japanese anime porn, pop art and Post-Its.
Not once does she mention famed photographer David LaChapelle.

Perez Hilton’s attack takes the… proverbial…
But fans of the video have noticed more than a passing resemblance to the photographer’s work, causing heated debate on Twitter and Facebook. When it emerged that LaChapelle, who has previously worked with the singer, played no part in the video, Rihanna was swiftly accused of plagiarising the artist’s work.
Even Perez Hilton, who appeared in the video, rounded on the star, tweeting: “The next time you make a David LaChapelle music video you should probably hire David LaChapelle.”
If Rihanna wanted David LaChapelle, she would have David LaChapelle – she has in the past.
Admittedly, when some of the images are shown side-by-side (we can’t for copyright reasons, but the Daily Mail can), the similarities are striking, some have said “blatant”. But Chapelle’s images are themselves unoriginal.

I am a fan of the photographer’s work, but, as with any visual artist, LaChapelle does not deal with wholly original concepts. He finds inspiration from the world around him. That inspiration derives from everything he experiences, be it personal life or popular media.
LaChapelle didn’t invent bondage imagery. For example, the man on the leash was no doubt inspired by images from films such as Salo, which were in turn inspired by other works. LaChapelle has merely taken that idea and added his own touches.
Certainly LaChapelle will be justifiably disgruntled if the video is based so closely to his ideas, but when any successful artist releases a work into the public domain, imitation is unavoidable and should be regarded as the sincerest form of flattery.
Madonna is just one pop artist who has referenced bondage in her videos, long before LaChapelle put it in Vogue, yet Rihanna isn’t accused of plagiarising her (although no doubt she has been ‘inspired’ by the multi-platinum artist).
Music videos are apt to find ‘inspiration’ from other media, even cannibalising their own. So why have people been so quick to damn the singer’s video as plagiary rather than celebrating it as a homage?
Rihanna and Matsoukas attempt to express concepts that prey on the singer’s mind – primarily the restrictive nature of the press – in an exciting and colourful way. For that they should be applauded.
Both are no doubt aware of LaChapelle’s work and his imagery will have filtered into their minds somehow, as celebrated as it is. But to damn the pair for plagiarism is a bit of a leap. As any artist will tell you, you can’t copyright an idea (it is the work that is copyrighted).

Lady Gaga Tickets

Those who think that it’s been a while since a new pop female artist has shown up on scene should see Lady Gaga. A theatrical dance-pop singer, songwriter and pianist, Lady Gaga has created a buzz for herself in the New York underground. With an infectious combination of beauty and talent, Lady gaga has captured hearts of people. She is known for work in the electronica genre, and is also one emerging Pop Star who hasn’t been plucked from a model casting call. Lady Gaga has been nominated for a Grammy Award and was recently added to the BBC Sound of 2009 longlist.

Originally called Stefania Gabriella Germanotta, Lady GaGa was born to an Italian family in March 1986, in New York. When she was a little girl, she would sing along on her mini plastic tape recorder to Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper hits.

By age 4, Lady Gaga had taught herself to play the piano by ear. She penned her first song when she was a teenager and started playing open mic nights at New York’s Bitter End at just the age of 14. By the age of 17, Gaga had been one of a few kids in the world to get early admission to Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.

When Lady Gaga would get twirled in the air in daddy’s arms to the sounds of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles, no one had expected that she would one day become a heart-throbbing persona. Influenced by flamboyant glam rockers such as David Bowie and Queen as well as ’80s dance-pop such as Madonna and Michael Jackson, she began working for Interscope Records at the age of 20. She served Interscope Records as a songwriter, penning songs for pop acts such as the Pussycat Dolls. Since she was among those who could stick around one thing, her talent pushed her to earn the right to reach for the sky.

A couple of years later, Stefania mounted a solo career. It’s no wonder that she turned into the exhibitionist, multi-talented singer-songwriter with a flair for theatrics as we know her today: Lady GaGa. She started working the local Lower East Side club scene, and came up with then-hits like ‘Beautiful Dirty Rich’. Creating music was not the only thing that was paving a way for Lady Gaga to rise to stardom, there was something else too. Her unique stage outfits! Her creative team, the ‘Haus of GaGa’, promoted the image of Lady GaGa worldwide via fashion, technology and various media.

Throughout 2008 Lady GaGa worked on tracks for her debut album ‘The Fame’. Prior to releasing The Fame, she earned a satisfied audience base. People began recognizing Lady Gaga with her performances which were accompanied by her infamous ‘Disco Stick’ and a pair of metallic sunglasses with digital screens as lenses which play video content. Lady GaGa’s pop persona is styled with blonde geometric bangs and Diamond encrusted shades. You will see her wearing loose hooded garments with skin-tight pants. The fall of 2008 saw her creative team, Haus of GaGa, turning their focus upon the USA market.

After releasing her debut album The Album Lady Gaga embarked on a world tour to promote her album. She toured with two dancers, Cinnamon and Ginger, and English DJ Space Cowboy in tow throughout the summer. With her stunning dance moves while singing live over remixed versions of her hits, Gaga made the tour special in terms of growing her fan-base. Upon returning, she made a way back to her club roots. Lady Gaga is back in studios with plans to create a visually fresh showcase of her potential hits. Lady GaGa is fortunate enough to have received mostly positive reviews from professional music critics. ‘Us Weekly’ compared her to Madonna and called her Pop’s New Dance Diva’, while ArtistDirect.com said, ‘Musically, Gaga has never taken a single footstep off the path already trod’. Praising her debut album The Fame, Billboard magazine called it ‘An Album full of Hits’. Also worth-considering is the New York Post’s review that called her the ‘future of pop’. The emerging pop star shows her passion for love songs on softer tracks such as the Queen-influenced ‘Brown Eyes’ and the sweet kiss-off break-up song ‘Nothing I can Say (eh eh)’.

Lady GaGa knows the art of hitting the ground running, while her song-craft is immaculate, creating infectious and addictive tracks laced with dance-pop righteousness and sweet melodies. A reality TV singing contestant who emerged from a teen cable TV sitcom, Lady Gaga is due to embark upon a tour with New Kids on the Block with whom she has collaborated on the song ‘Big Girl Now’. So grab your tickets and see Lady Gaga performing live in the bigger music venues of your cities!

Lady Gaga Best Songs: The Top Lady Gaga Songs

I don’t ever listen to the radio so I’m always late on finding out new artists and songs, and it was the case with Lady Gaga, for a while I had no idea who she was. Then once I kept hearing the name I decided to investigate and actually liked what I heard. She has multiple top ten hits, awards, and has had two huge tours (The Fame Ball and The Monster Ball tour). But out of the material that Lady Gaga has released in the past two years which songs are her best? While trying to put together a list of Lady Gaga’s best songs I wanted to put the ones I enjoyed the most but also put enough songs to make a somewhat comprehensive list. With that in mind the following is what I think are the top Lady Gaga songs.

Poker Face-A massively successful single off of Lady Gaga’s 2008 release The Fame, Poker Face has a very dark sounding beat but has so much energy behind it. The song reached number 3 on the Billboard Chart and was one of the biggest downloads of the year. It also spawned a few rap remixes and Cartman sang Poker Face on an episode of South Park, which by itself should give it a spot on the list.

Paparazzi- I’m your biggest fan I’ll follow you until you love me.  This was another top ten hit for Lady Gaga and for good reason. It features a moderate tempo synthesized induced beat along with some rather beautiful sounding vocals for the hook. The Paparazzi music video was also pretty damn insane looking which makes it great YouTube fodder.

Bad Romance- Speaking of YouTube, the Bad Romance video on Lady Gaga’s official Vevo channel has as of writing over 241 million views! That number dwarfs the population of most countries and while I like the song I honestly never knew it was catchy to the point of 241 million views. Since everyone has apparently heard Bad Romance is there any need to talk about it?

Speechless- Speechless was written to convince her father to undergo heart surgery and while that seems like an unusual spark for the song writing process it turned out very well. At times this song sounds like Freddy Mercury is about to grab a microphone and start singing it really has a different feel from the other songs already listed but is definitely amongst Gaga’s best.

LoveGame- As a man I can’t in good conscience sing the disco stick chorus but she is right about the beat being sick. The lyrics aren’t too complex for anyone to figure out what she is talking about but whatever it’s a catchy pop tune.

Alejandro- Ale-Ale-jandro,  Ale-Ale-jandro.I heard someone yelling this in the parking lot of the mall today; do you think it’s a popular song?

Telephone- Telephone starts out slow before the beat just explodes and it also features a collaboration with Beyonce. Apparently they don’t want to take any calls while they’re on the dance floor. Lady Gaga wrote this song originally for Britney Spears who passed on it but I’ll take her and Beyonce on the track over Britney.

Dance in the Dark- The instrumental on Dance in the Dark is excellent almost like a new wave dance track and she sounds wonderful over it.

Paper Gangsta- When I first saw the title of this song I thought it was perfect for a rapper to name a song but what the hell does it have to do with Lady Gaga? Nothing because she doesn’t want them.

Beautiful, Dirty, Rich-It utilizes lots of repetition but I really like it’s unique sound  with the drum kit beat looping in the background. Beautiful, dirty, dirty, rich, rich.

Monster- He ate my heart.  Her voice sounds rather robotic repeating that lyric on Monster and the entire track sounds like some futuristic dance song but that makes it one of my favorite songs by Lady Gaga.

Disco Heaven-A very nice dance track influenced by you guessed it disco!

Just Dance- Just Dance was the debut single on The Fame album and hit number one on the charts in the US. Just Dance is a great song for the clubs or wherever you feel like getting drunk and dancing.

Information About Chillin by Lady Gaga

As you may have heard, Lady Gaga was recently featured in the song Chillin, a collaborative song between Wale and Lady Gaga.  Chillin was officially released on June 2, 2009 to mixed reviews—some complained it was too generic whereas others thought it was catchy and likable.  Below lists additional information about Chillin by Lady Gaga.

Chillin by Lady Gaga: Song Information

Chillin by Lady Gaga is a collaboration between Wale and Lady Gaga, which was heavily influenced by early, or early 1990′s, rap.

Chillin is approximately three minutes and seventeen seconds long, which predominantly features Wale’s old school rap lyrics mixed in with her rich, soulful vocals.

Lady Gaga sings the chorus, accented by Wale’s shout outs to his home turf, the District of Columbia (DC).

The first verse is sung by Wale.  The second verse is preempted by Lady Gaga, who sings “Get ‘em up, get ‘em up”.

One more verse follows before the ending chorus by Lady Gaga and Wale.

Overall, Chillin is a harsh, catchy song that tells the story of Wale’s upbringing in the District of Columia and how he rose to the top.  He makes many references to his high class lifestyle after becoming another “rags to riches” success story.

The song is slightly narcissistic in nature, but overall has a positive and envious tone.

Chillin by Lady Gaga: Collaboration Information

Chillin by Lady Gaga was first initiated by Wale, who wanted to produce a song with the Just Dance singer in 2008.  Wale requested Mark Ronson, his mentor, to show her the incomplete song.  He hoped she could add her own touch to Chillin.

Her initial reaction was positive—she liked the message of the song and agreed to add vocals.  She also helped write additional material.

Production of the song in 2008, released in the summer of 2009. It is included as part of Wale’s Attention: Deficit album, which is set for a fall 2009 release.

Chillin was Lady Gaga’s second single, followed after Love Game.  The single allowed fans to get a glimpse into her other vocal talents, which earned her praise in the pop world.  Many people also praised Wade for his smart, snappy lyrics that really showed the true side of his home, the District of Columbia.

Rihanna- A Star In The Making

Do you know who Robyn Rihanna Fenty is? Are you familiar with the song, “Unfaithful”? Do you often dance to the tune of “Umbrella”? If you are an R&B fan, you must know all the answers to these questions.

The song “Unfaithful” is one of Billboard’s Hot 100 Top Ten entries in 2006. “Umbrella” however, took the US by storm as it became the United States’ number one hit single on the same year that this single was released. Furthermore, “Umbrella” won the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in the Grammy Awards in that same year. Indeed, Rihanna has become one of the hottest female artists in history.

Born in February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados, Rihanna moved to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue her singing career. At this young age, Rihanna was able to have a fresh head start of her recording career under the guidance of record producer Evan Rogers.

A year after, she signed a contract with DefJam Recordings and released her first studio album, Music of the Sun. Despite her young age, the album peaked in the Top Ten Billboard 200 chart. This was the start of Rihanna’s recording career.

In just a matter of a few months after the release of her first album, she was able to record her second studio album, A Girl Like Me. As expected, this album also made it to the Billboard albums chart, making her name a mainstay in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Indeed, there is no stopping for this Barbadian girl, as her third album which was released in 2007 peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. Moreover, this same album featured five top ten hits, including “Umbrella”, “Disturbia”, “Don’t Stop the Music”, and “Take a Bow”. Correspondingly, because of these amazing hit singles, the album was nominated for nine Grammy Awards.

Her latest album, Rated R, which is also her fourth album, once again peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. Three singles from this album peaked within the top ten of Billboard Hot 100.

From 2005 to 2010, Rihanna was able to establish her name in almost all recording stores all over the world. In less than five years of her recording career, she was able to achieve seven number one singles on Billboard Hot 100. And, as of July of 2010, she has sold more than 5, 563,000 album units in the United States alone. She was able to receive awards from prestigious award-winning bodies such as the World Music Awards, the American Music Awards, and the most coveted Grammy Awards. With all these achievements in such a short span of time, Rihanna is indeed one of the most phenomenal artists of the new generation. Today, there is practically no one that does not know her in the United States, and in other parts of the world. At such a young age, Rihanna has still a long way to go.

One of the most popular recording R&B artists today is rihanna. To know more about her, check outrihanna pictures in the internet.

Chris Brown allowed to contact Rihanna, but not harass her

Rihanna and Brown were involved in the infamous altercation, which left Rihanna bruised and battered slightly more than 2 years ago.

The highly publicized Brown-Rihanna saga began on the eve of their scheduled appearance at the Grammy Awards in 2009. The duo allegedly fought on the way home from the Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party on Feb. 8.

Brown pled guilty to felony assault in 2009 and was sentenced to 5 years probation. He was also ordered to complete more than 1,400 hours of community service and slapped with a restraining order that barred him from contacting or being near Rihanna.

The 21-year-old ‘Yeah 3X’ singer is allowed to contact Rihanna again after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge lifted the restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the 23-year-old Barbados-born beauty, according to a TMZ report.

During a court hearing in L.A. Tuesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg replaced Rihanna’s previous restraining order with a level one order, meaning Brown no longer have to stay 10 yards away from Rihanna if they attend the same awards ceremonies.

Brown was present in the Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday alongside his attorney, Mark Geragos. While Rihanna did not attend the hearing, her lawyer, Donald Etra, told the court she had no objection to the downgrade of the restraining order.

Under the modified order, Brown is permitted to speak with Rihanna, but is still prohibited from harassing or annoying the ‘S&M’ singer.

“I’m approving the order,” Judge Schnegg told Brown, according to Radar Online. “You can’t annoy, molest, or conduct surveillance of the person on the order.”

Brown was present in the Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday alongside his attorney, Mark Geragos.

While Rihanna did not attend the hearing, her lawyer, Donald Etra, told the court she had no objection to the downgrade of the restraining order.

“I have spoken with my client and she does not object to it being modified to a level one order,” Etra said.

Brown, meanwhile, has seemingly significantly progressed since the incident. At a progress hearing last August, Judge Schnegg told Brown, “You are doing very well. You are doing everything you are supposed to … you are working consistently on your community labor.”
