Cash Money Records is a record label founded by brothers Bryan “Birdman” Williams andRonald “Slim” Williams. Today it operates as a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, and is distributed by Universal Motown Republic Group.
Cash Money’s big break came in 1997 when the Hot Boys, B.G. and Juvenile in particular, caught the attention of Universal Recordsexecutives. In 1998, Cash Money signed a million pressing and distribution contract with Universal, entitling the label to 85% of its royalties, 50% of its publishing revenues and ownership of all masters. After the deal Cash Money would reach success it hadn’t come close to previously. The release of Juvenile’s 1998 album 400 Degreez, which was certified 4X Platinum by the RIAA [3], solidified Cash Money as a powerful label in the national hip-hop scene. Later albums in 1999 such as the Hot Boys’ Guerrilla Warfare, B.G.’s Chopper City in the Ghetto, and Lil Wayne’s Tha Block Is Hot also saw great chart success and furthered the label’s reputation. These albums contained major Billboard hits such as Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up” (#19 on the Billboard Hot 100 ), B.G.’s “Bling Bling” (#36), and the Hot Boys’ “I Need a Hot Girl” (#65). All of Cash Money’s albums and singles in this period were solely produced by the label’s in-house producer, Mannie Fresh.

Birdman , He is the co-founder of Cash Money Records and one half of the duo Big Tymers. Along with his releases with Big Tymers and for his solo career, Birdman recorded a collaboration album and numerous tracks with Lil Wayne.

Bow Wow The first album released under his new moniker was Unleashed in 2003. Its first single was “Let’s Get Down,” featuringBirdman, the founder of Cash Money Records, which reached #14 on the Hot 100 and #6 on the Hot Rap Tracks charts. The second single was then released, “My Baby”, featuring Jagged Edge. Unlike his previous albums, this one was not produced under the mentorship ofJermaine Dupri.
Brisco did guest performances on tracks from DJ Khaled’s Listennn… the Album (“The Future of Dade”) and Rick Ross’s Port of Miami (“I’m a G”, also with Lil Wayne). Lil Wayne signed Brisco to Cash Money Records in November that year. Brisco began recording an album for Poe Boy and Cash Money, Street Medicine , in 2007 with lead single “I’m Into Dat” and “Opa-locka”. He also made his big debut with Cash Money on Lil’ Wayne’s mixtape Da Drought 3 on a song called New Cash Money
Freeway Best known for his tenure on Roc-a-Fella Records and his affiliation withJay-Z and Beanie Sigel, he is recognized by his high-pitched delivery (akin to that of Ghostface Killah) and for the long beard he keeps due to his Muslim faith. His moniker is not derived from the name of the infamous drug trafficker ”Freeway” Ricky Ross. He was a member of the rap group Ice City, is a member of the rap group State Property
Glasses Malone first album, Beach Cruiser , was originally scheduled to come out on February 20, 2007. However, due to a change in record labels, Malone signed a new deal with Cash Money Records and Hoo-Bangin’ Records[5] and his album release scheduled tentatively for April 2008. Two singles from the album debuted in 2008: “Certified” featuring Akon and “Haterz” featuring Birdman and Lil Wayne. His album has now been pushed back to January 1, 2010 and there is now a new single, “Sun Come Up” featuring T-Pain, Rick Ross, and Birdman, as well as two new mixtapes before the album drops according to Dubcnn
Jay Sean Since the end of 2008, has he been signed to Cash Money Records. In 2009, his American debut single “Down” topped the Billboard Hot 100, making him the first solo artist of South Asian origin and first UK urban act to top the Hot 100.
Kevin Rudolf Rudolf is signed to Cash Money Records/Universal Republic. Born and raised in New York, he is based out of Miami, Florida. Rudolf’s debut single, “Let It Rock” featuring Lil Wayne, was certified triple platinum by the RIAA on May 5, 2009. It reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, #5 on the UK Singles Chart, #3 on the Australian Singles Chart, and #2 on the Canadian Hot 100. His second single, “Welcome to the World,” reached #58 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lil Wayne In 1997, Carter joined the Hot Boys along with rappers Juvenile, B.G., and Turk. At age 15, Carter was the youngest member at that time. Hot Boys’ debut album Get It How U Live! was released the same year, followed in 1999 by the group’s major-label debut Guerrilla Warfare ,which reached #1 on the Billboard magazine Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #5 on the Billboard 200.

Sabrina Washington is a British singer-songwriter and dancer who rose to fame as the lead singer of the UK girl band, Mis-Teeq, the group achieved a number of top 10 hits in the UK, the group also had a top 40 single in the USA. Washington released her debut single “OMG (Oh My Gosh)” on April 5, 2010. Washington appeared as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here! 2009.
T Lopez is also a former member of DreamWorks Records quartet Soluna, whose sole album “For All Time” and debut single of the same name generated buzz in 2002. The group opened forEnrique Iglesias and Marc Anthony. She appeared a UPN television pilot based on the group’s adventures in the music business in 2004, but the pilot was never picked up.
Yo Gotti is a southernrapper from the northern side of Memphis, Tennessee. He used to be known as Lil Yo. His influences include N.W.A, Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur.

Gudda Gudda is a rapper from New Orleans. He used to be part of the Hip Hop group “Sqad Up” along with fellow Young Money members Lil Wayne and T-Streets.
Jae Millz His rapping abilities gained him a spot on a DJ Kay Slay mixtape. Millz gained popularity in mixtape battles (most notably against Murda Mook,ty streetz, Sire Castro, and E-Ness).
Lil Chuckee is a teenage rapper from New Orleans. He is currently the youngest member out of the Young Money crew and has appeared in plenty of music videos as a dancer.
Lil Twist He was discovered by Lil Wayne after he opened up for him during a local concert. Wayne then brought Twist with him to a studio in Atlanta to freestyle, and was impressed with him, signing him to his Young Money Entertainment Label.
Mack Maine is an American rapper and singer. Mack Maine is signed to Young Money Entertainment, an imprint of Lil Wayne’s Universal Motown-distributed Cash Money Records, and is currently the president of the label.
Nicki Minaj s a female rapper from Queens. She met up with Lil Wayne from appearing on the Dirty Money Records DVD titled “The Come Up” and was the first lady to sign with Young Money Ent.
Shanell aka SnL s a female R&B singer, songwriter and choreographer. She wrote and featured in Lil Wayne’s “Prom Queen” music video and has worked for other artists such as Jay-Z and Ne-Yo.
Short Dawg is the latest artist to sign with Young Money Entertainment. He is mainly known for his verse on Lil Wayne’s “Me And My Drank” record and his nickname is Elvis Freshley.
T-Streets is a rapper from New Orleans. He used to be in the group “Sqad Up” along with Lil Wayne, Kidd Kidd and Gudda Gudda. He was also featured on Weezy’s single and music video “The Only Reason”.
Tyga He achieved his first recognition opening for Fall Out Boy and Gym Class Heroes during the Young Wild Things Tour in late 2007. Earlier that year he had also released his first mixtape Young On Probation which featured Jay Rock, The Pack and more. His debut single, “Coconut Juice,” was released in 2008 and its video was directed by Rage. His mixtape, No Introduction the Series: April 10 , was released online in April.

Cash Money Records co-founders, Birdman and Ronald “Slim” Williams are trying their hands in another business venture outside the music world. They’re now expanding their portfolios into the oil business.
The New Orleans-bred brothers have launched an independent oil and gas company called Bronald Oil & Gas.Via the company’s mission station on their website, BronaldOil.com, they say their initial focus is the “exploration, production and development of oil and gas reserves from conventional and unconventional formations.”

Rapper Drake of Young Money Entertainment, was recently cleared by prison authorities to visit his label mate, and CEO, Lil Wayne in New York’s Rikers Island Correctional Facility.
This is the second time that Rikers Island is seeing high-profile visitors check up on their most famous inmate. Last month, Diddy jumped on that long bus to prison to see Lil Wayne and sat with him for an hour.
